Rolls Royce has a gift for targeting many market segments–just think back to the Aviation collection, the Art Deco car and the Year of the Dragon Phantom edition (follow links to view details for each). The luxury marquee has nailed it again with the 2013 Rolls Royce Ghost One Thousand and One Nights edition, an exotic spectacle that is certainly generating a stir!
Rolls-Royce Ghost One Thousand and One Nights edition
Inspired by the Arabian literary classic, the One Thousand and One Nights Ghost will only be haunting customers in the Middle East. It boasts a lavish two-tone exterior of decadent brown hues, intended to depict that it is inspired by a rich array of cultures.
Rolls-Royce said in a statement that “the epic tales told by Scheherazade have captivated readers and storytellers for centuries.” Perhaps stories of this exclusive Rolls Royce will accomplish that same feat. The car will be launched in three chapters, with the first unveiling at the 2012 Sharjah International Auto Show. The following two chapters are expected to feature different colors.
The Ghost powertrain appears to be untouched, making it a 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12 with 563 horses and an 8-speed automatic transmission. Aside from color schemes, the words “One Thousand and One Nights” appear in Arabic just below the C-pillar.
The odds of one of these special edition machines making it to America are slim to none, but with over 44,000 custom paint options offered by the brand, it should not break too many hearts.
The standard 2013 Rolls-Royce Ghost starts at $260,750 in the U.S., including a $2,000 destination charge and a $2,100 gas-guzzler tax. Official pricing for this edition has not been released.
